چکیده

ABSTRACT The Kepler mission revealed a plethora of stellar variability in the light curves many stars, some associated with magnetic activity or oscillations. In this work, we analyse periodic signal 162 intermediate-mass interpreted as Rossby modes and rotational modulation – so-called hump spike feature. We investigate whether (spike) is due to spots caused by fields Overstable Convective (OsC) resonantly exciting g modes, frequencies corresponding convective core rotation rate. Assuming that spikes are created at surface, recover amplitudes fields, which good agreement theoretical predictions. Our data show clear anticorrelation between mass possibly correlation age, consistent dynamo-generated theory (sub)-surface layers. Investigating harmonic behaviour, find for 125 stars neither two possible explanations can be excluded. While our results suggest field scenario more likely explain feature, assess further work needed distinguish scenarios. One method ruling out one directly observe stars. Another would impose additional constraints through detailed modelling regarding requirement OsC mode presence convective-core (stellar age).

Rotational Modulation of M/l Dwarfs Due to Magnetic Spots

We find periodic I-band variability in two ultracool dwarfs, TVLM 513-46546 and 2MASS J00361617 1821104, on either side of the M/L dwarf boundary. Both of these targets are short-period radio transients, with the detected I-band periods matching those found at radio wavelengths ( hr for TVLM 513-46546 and hr for P p 1.96 P p 3 2MASS J00361617 1821104). We attribute the detected I-band periodici...

Differential Rotation in F Stars

Differential rotation can be detected in single line profiles of stars rotating more rapidly than about v sin i = 10 km s with the Fourier transform technique. This allows to search for differential rotation in large samples to look for correlations between differential rotation and other stellar parameters. I analyze the fraction of differentially rotating stars as a function of color, rotatio...

Stellar evolution with rotation and magnetic fields: I. The relative importance of rotational and magnetic effects

We compare the current effects of rotation in stellar evolution to those of the magnetic field created by the Tayler instability. In stellar regions, where magnetic field can be generated by the dynamo due to differential rotation (Spruit 2002), we find that the growth rate of the magnetic instability is much faster than for the thermal instability. Thus, meridional circulation is negligible wi...

Differential rotation in rapidly rotating F - stars ⋆ , ⋆ ⋆

We obtained high quality spectra of 135 stars of spectral types F and later and derived " overall " broadening functions in selected wavelength regions utilizing a Least Squares Deconvolution (LSD) procedure. Precision values of the projected rotational velocity v sin i were derived from the first zero of the Fourier transformed profiles and the shapes of the profiles were analyzed for effects ...

Stellar Evolution with Rotation and Magnetic Fields

We examine the generation of a magnetic field in a solar-like star and its effects on the internal distribution of the angular velocity. We suggest that the evolution of a rotating star with magnetic fields leads to an equilibrium value of the differential rotation. This equilibrium is determined by the magnetic coupling, which favours a constant rotation profile, and meridional circulation whi...
